Legends Never Fade: A Double Nickel Celebration for Guy "Mr Nyice Guy" Davis

Our BUILD community came together for a night that felt like a true time capsule as we celebrated DJ Mr Nyice Guy’s 55th Birthday Party and Roast in honor of our brother of BUILD, Guy Davis. Reaching the double nickel is a milestone worth celebrating, and there was no better way to do it than by honoring a man whose influence has shaped Seattle’s music scene for decades. The night was not only a birthday celebration, but a tribute to Guy’s legacy as a DJ legend, cultural icon, and community staple.

The theme of the evening was the 80s and 90s, a deliberate nod to an era when music ruled the scene and style set the tone. Guests showed up dressed to impress, fully embracing the vibe with bold colors, classic silhouettes, throwback accessories, and outfits that paid homage to a time when fashion and music were inseparable. The room itself felt alive with nostalgia, energy, and creativity, setting the perfect stage for a celebration rooted in history and culture.

The Royal Esquire graciously hosted the event and provided an intimate, electric space for the night’s festivities.
