BUILD Celebrates Mothers, Matriarchs, and Community at the 6th Annual Mother's Day Celebration

For the sixth consecutive year, BUILD proudly gathered community members, families, leaders, and supporters to celebrate one of our most cherished traditions: the BUILD 206 Annual Mother's Day Celebration.

This year's event was a heartfelt tribute to the extraordinary women whose strength, resilience, love, and leadership continue to shape our families, neighborhoods, and community. What began six years ago as a way to intentionally honor mothers and mother figures in our community has grown into a powerful annual tradition. Each year, BUILD recognizes women whose contributions often happen behind the scenes but whose impact is felt by generations. They are caregivers, advocates, mentors, entrepreneurs, educators, faith leaders, community builders, and everyday heroes whose dedication strengthens the fabric of our community.

This year's celebration was especially meaningful as we recognized ten remarkable women whose commitment to family, service, and leadership exemplifies the values that BUILD seeks to uplift throughout the year.

Honoring Our 2026 Mother's Day Honorees

BUILD was honored to recognize the following women during our 6th Annual Mother's Day Celebration:

  • Danyaile Nikkole Hammond

  • Modester Antoinette Adams

  • Natasha Antoinette Williams-Murphy

  • Toni Bailey

  • Lisa Phair

  • Catherine Rosales

  • Lonnisha Landry

  • Dynecca Vincent

  • Jazmyn Scott

  • Dawn Mason

  • Angie Mosley

Each honoree represents a unique story of perseverance, compassion, and service. Together, they reflect the diversity, strength, and excellence that exists throughout our community. Their contributions remind us that leadership is not always found in titles or public recognition. Often, it is demonstrated through acts of sacrifice, consistency, encouragement, and love.

Celebrating the Women Who Hold Communities Together

Mothers and mother figures are often the first teachers, protectors, advocates, and supporters in our lives. They guide families through challenges, celebrate milestones, and provide the foundation upon which future generations are built. At BUILD, we recognize that many of the women we honor have spent years investing their time, energy, and talents into helping others succeed. Whether through professional careers, community service, mentorship, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, or simply being a dependable source of support for family and friends, these women embody what it means to lead with purpose.

The annual Mother's Day Celebration provides a space to recognize and celebrate these contributions publicly. It is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and express gratitude for the countless ways women contribute to the well-being and advancement of our community.

An Afternoon of Gratitude, Connection, and Recognition

The event brought together family members, friends, community partners, and supporters to celebrate the honorees and share in a spirit of appreciation. Throughout the gathering, stories were shared, highlighting the lasting impact these women have made on the lives of others.

From heartfelt tributes to moments of laughter and reflection, the celebration served as a reminder of the importance of community and the power of recognition. Honorees were celebrated not only for their accomplishments but also for the values they represent: resilience, compassion, leadership, service, and commitment to others.

The atmosphere was filled with gratitude as attendees reflected on the countless ways mothers and mother figures continue to inspire and uplift those around them.

Continuing a BUILD Tradition

The BUILD Mother's Day Celebration has become more than an annual event. It has become an important tradition that reflects our organization's commitment to honoring the people who make our communities stronger.

For six years, BUILD has intentionally created opportunities to recognize individuals whose work often goes unnoticed despite its profound impact. By celebrating mothers and mother figures, we acknowledge the essential role they play in developing healthy families, strong communities, and future leaders. As our organization continues to grow, so does our commitment to highlighting the stories, accomplishments, and contributions of Black women and women of color whose leadership deserves recognition and celebration.

Looking Ahead

As we reflect on another successful Mother's Day Celebration, we are filled with gratitude for every honoree, family member, volunteer, and community supporter who helped make this event possible.

To our 2026 honorees, thank you for your strength, your resilience, your leadership, and your unwavering dedication to our community. Your example inspires us all and reminds us that meaningful change begins with people who choose to invest in others. BUILD is proud to continue this tradition of honoring the women who nurture, guide, advocate, and lead. We look forward to celebrating even more incredible mothers and mother figures in the years ahead.

Congratulations to all of our 6th Annual Mother's Day Honorees. Your impact is seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.
