Some birthdays come and go. Others become stories that people will talk about for years... and Andre's 45th Birthday Roast and Players Ball was one of those nights.
Friends, family, coworkers, and community members packed Acts on Stage to celebrate a man who has spent years pouring into others. From the moment guests walked through the doors, the energy was undeniable. The room was filled with hugs, laughter, music, and conversations between people who had not seen each other in years. It felt less like an event and more like a family reunion.
The Players Ball theme brought the room to life. Guests showed up dressed to impress, wearing colorful suits, wide-brimmed hats, platform shoes, furs, dresses, and enough style to make the 1970s proud. Everywhere you looked, there was another outfit that deserved a second look.
Before the roast began, BUILD 206 had the opportunity to capture something truly special.
We spent time interviewing friends, family, and community members who know Andre best. Each person shared stories, laughs, favorite memories, and words that reflected the impact Andre has made throughout his life. Those heartfelt moments will become part of a lasting collection that celebrates not only this milestone birthday but the relationships and community that have been built around him over the years.
As guests settled into their seats, the evening officially got underway with hosts Deaunte Damper and Isaiah Anderson Jr. taking the stage. While Andre was undoubtedly the star of the night, the hosts made sure they had their own unforgettable moments. Their chemistry kept the audience laughing from beginning to end as they traded jokes, kept the energy high, and made sure every transition felt natural. They knew exactly when to turn up the comedy and when to let the heartfelt moments breathe. Their quick wit and playful banter were among the biggest highlights of the evening.
Then came the roast.
Family members, lifelong friends, and community leaders lined up to lovingly remind Andre that nobody is safe when the microphone is on. The jokes came fast. The stories got even better.

The crowd laughed until tears rolled down their faces as one unforgettable memory after another was shared. Every playful jab came from a place of love, making it clear just how much Andre means to everyone in the room. One of the most emotional moments of the evening came during a special tribute to our dear brother, Larry Evans, who recently passed away.
Although Larry could not be with us in person, his presence was felt throughout the room.
Guests watched a video from Andre's 2020 birthday roast, where Larry shared words filled with joy, laughter, and brotherly love. Hearing his voice again brought smiles, laughter, and more than a few tears. It was a beautiful reminder that while we may lose people we love, their words, their spirit, and the memories they leave behind continue to live on. The tribute gave everyone a chance to honor Larry while celebrating the friendship he and Andre shared for so many years.

Throughout the evening, there were countless moments that reminded everyone why community matters. Old friends reconnected. New friendships were formed. Stories were shared across generations. Laughter echoed throughout the venue.
Every smile, every joke, and every hug helped create a night that none of us will soon forget.
As the roast came to an end, the celebration continued with music, fellowship, photos, and plenty of conversations about the night's funniest moments. People stayed long after the program ended, soaking in the atmosphere and enjoying time together.
Andre's 45th Birthday Roast and Players Ball was more than just a birthday celebration. It was a reminder that life's greatest gifts are the people who walk beside us, laugh with us, and help create memories that last forever.
Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket, dressed up, shared a story, roasted our birthday honoree, volunteered, and helped make this event such a success. Most of all, thank you, Andre, for giving us another reason to celebrate a real one from the town.
