This past July 2025, we had the joy of bringing our community together once again for our annual Block Party, and this year was especially meaningful as we partnered with Columbia City Beatwalk to create an experience rooted in joy, culture, and collaboration. From the moment the event began, the energy was undeniable. Music filled the streets, neighbors greeted one another with smiles, and the space transformed into a true celebration of who we are as a community.
For us, our annual Block Party is more than just an event. It is a reflection of our mission and our belief that community thrives when people are given space to connect, create, and celebrate together. This year’s event embodied that spirit in every way. Local vendors lined the streets offering everything from food and apparel to art and handmade goods. Each vendor brought their own story, creativity, and passion, reminding us how important it is to support and uplift local businesses.

Music played a central role throughout the day, with local artists and musicians setting the tone and creating a soundtrack that kept the crowd moving and engaged. Their performances highlighted the incredible talent within our community and reinforced the power of the arts to bring people together.
One of the most powerful moments of the day for us was the opportunity to celebrate our BUILD Black Wealth Incubator Program winners. This program represents a deep investment in the future of our community. Through the incubator, we worked closely with young Black male entrepreneurs to develop their skills, strengthen their business plans, and build confidence in their vision. The program also provided participants with an opportunity to receive funding to support and grow their businesses, helping turn ideas into action.
Honoring these entrepreneurs during the Block Party felt especially fitting. Surrounded by community, culture, and collaboration, we were reminded that Black wealth building is not just about individual success but about collective progress. Seeing these young men celebrated for their hard work and dedication was a proud moment for our entire BUILD team.

As the day came to a close, we reflected on what made this year’s Block Party so special. It was the laughter, the music, the shared experiences, and the partnerships that made it all possible. We are grateful to Columbia City Beatwalk, our vendors, artists, musicians, and every community member who showed up and made this event what it was.
This Block Party was a reminder that when we come together with intention and love, we create spaces where everyone can thrive. We look forward to continuing this tradition and building even more opportunities for connection, celebration, and growth in the years ahead.
