Honoring the Father's of our Community

BUILD206 was proud to celebrate some truly amazing men in our community with our 5th Annual Father’s Day Award Celebration. After five years, this event continues to get bigger and better, in that we get to celebrate the best our community has to offer. This event was designed to celebrate men who give so much to the community but ask for little in return. We celebrated some who are fathers, but we also celebrated those who mentor, lead, teach, train, educate, protect, and provide for our communities in so many ways.

In our fifth year, we were proud to be able to honor 13 men who embody the definition of being community fathers.

The 2021 BUILD Fathers Day Award honorees were:

  1. Benaiah Israel

  2. Joseph Smith

  3. Michael Eric Moore

  4. Lewis Rudd

  5. Darryl Glover

  6. Jeffrey Balladone

  7. Derrick Wheeler-Smith

  8. Eddie Purpose

  9. Marcus Graham

  10. Willie Campbell

  11. Bryan Hayes

  12. Steve Williams

  13. Jamal Farr

We celebrated those who minister to our community, trailblazers in the field of community organizing, those who bring the arts to life, and others who help give life to their brothers. There was no shortage of inspiration in the room at our celebration this year. If you missed it, you missed a great event, but don’t worry...we got you covered! Check out our Father’s Day Celebration highlights on our YouTube page.

To keep our community safe and healthy, this year's festivities were held in a hybrid format. Some of our attendees were able to join us in person while others were able to participate remotely. To ensure all of our honorees felt the love, our team made sure to visit each honoree and present them with their award, a gift card, and an I Love BUILD T-Shirt. This was just a small token of our appreciation for these incredible men to show them how much we love and appreciate their service to our community.

Be sure to check out some of the photos of our honorees from this year’s event. Be on the lookout for our 2022 Father’s Day Event. We are excited to honor men in the community, and hopefully, do it in person. Information about our 2022 festivities will be shared in the early Spring of 2022.
