About the event
Come out and support the City of Seattle's Five (5) Commissions (LGBTQ, Women's, Human Rights, Disability, and Immigrant & Refugee), of the Seattle Office of Civil Rights invites you to City Hall for a Day of Events Celebrating and reflecting on Black History Month! The brothers of BUILD will be onsite to support this event. Visit Deaunte Damper and Guy Davis at our BUILD table to learn about BUILD the Vote and our BUILD Labor Standards initiatives. Check out André Franklin as he participates in a conversation around Black economics. Then stick around for Isiah Anderson Jr. and Deaunte Damper to co-facilitate a panel around Black community support for the LGBTQ community.
The event they have organized is a mesmerizing program with community leaders, activists, and volunteers that will go in-depth into the amazing history of love, resilience, and resistance that has kept the Black Community centered regardless of centuries of a marginalized existence in this Country. #Black Love Is Black Resistance!
